A decade with Goliat

Posted in Featured on Mar 21, 2016

Nine years of collaboration with Eni Norway (Eni Norge AS) comes to a head as Eni Norway rolls out the carpet to finally begin production from its newest platform, the Goliat.

We have had Eni Norway as a customer since 2007 and have followed their historic Goliat-project from its conceptualization, up to its implementation this year. As a multimedia supplier to this activity, we have delivered a comprehensive communications service, which have included everything from exhibition-presentations, films, photography, text and project documentation.

We were shown great confidence from Eni Norway from the very beginning, and News On Request has been continuously involved in the very extensive communication efforts that the company has done in recent years.

The filming of Goliat´s development brought us not only to all corners of Norway, but to many parts of the world as well. We have followed its construction at the shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea, the construction of standby vessels in Spain – as well as visited subcontractors in Portugal, Sweden, France, England and Denmark, amongst others.

This operation has provided professional challenges for News On Request which has further cemented us as sector-proficient. In following Goliat´s evolution, we have deployed a wide variety of instruments to produce top-quality shots, such as boats, helicopters and drones.

To follow the development of the Barents Sea's first oil field from its beginning right up to the start of production has been professionally stimulating for us as a supplier, as well as having been a very exciting and informative process. Being able to work in close cooperation with Eni's very professional organization has been a privilege- which has also helped to raise our own expertise along the way.

Goliat is the first Norwegian oil producing field north of the Arctic Circle in the Barents Sea. The oil platform has been developed using the largest and most sophisticated floating cylindrical production and storage (FPSO) concept in the world. This structure has an advanced, comprehensive design in order to meet the technical and environmental challenges linked to Arctic offshore operations.

News On Request is proud to have been a part of this journey, and to see this project finally beginning its first chapter of application.
